DIS SHARK TANK: Young Innovators Pitch Big Ideas for a Dynamic World!

English Department of the school, hosted its multidisciplinary “DIS Shark Tank – Regional Innovation Challenge” for Grades IX and X on July 14–15, 2026, aligning learning with NEP 2020 and the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat vision.

On Day 1, Grade X teams pitched regional startup concepts, presided over by the school’s Director Ms. Simrita Mann and the school Principal, Ms. Vipanjot Sehdeva was the esteemed judge of the day.
On Day 2, Grade IX teams presented solutions to the problems affecting people of both the states of Punjab and Andhra Pradesh, to be adjudged by Ms. Amarpreet Kaur, the English Educator at the school.

The student innovations tackled real-world challenges across Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. Projects included Ekta Vastram (Phulkari-Kalamkari fusion fashion with a virtual try-on feature), KathaAR and Heritage Lens (AR-based cultural tourism), The Neuroband Device (mental well-being wearable), and From Stubble to Electricity and EcoSutra (green tech). Teams backed their ideas using working websites, data-driven cost-benefit analyses and interactive pitch deck QR codes.

Commending the initiative, the principal remarked that it was deeply heartening to see the students approach complex regional challenges with such conscious, green thinking, stating that by bridging academic concepts with real-world scenarios, the participants had gained a profound, practical understanding of today’s dynamic business environment, adding that the future of Indian entrepreneurship is indeed in exceptionally innovative hands.
