Admission

 

Parents/Guardians should register their children/wards vide the Application Form enclosed at the end of this prospectus. All the requirements mentioned in the Application form must be strictly followed.

The school is currently accepting children from Playway up to Class 9. Each year one class shall be added eventually reaching the senior secondary level of Class 12.
Admission is purely on the basis of Merit list prepared after the entrance test followed by a personal interview, provided there is a seat vacant. After the child has qualified in the interview and admission has been confirmed, the parent must immediately deposit the necessary fees as per fee structure enclosed, failing which the offer of admission may be communicated to the next eligible candidate.

The age at the time of admission to various classes should ordinarily not exceed the following

Pre-Nursery 2.5 Years Class V 10 years
Nursery 3 Years Class VI 11 years
LKG 4 Years Class VII 12 years
UKG 5 Years Class VIII 13 years
Class I 6 Years Class IX 14 years
Class II 7 Years Class X 15 years
Class III 8 Years Class XI 16 years
Class IV 9 Years Class XII 17 Years
The Admission form must be accompanied by the documents listed below:
  • Mark Sheet of the last session attended in previous school.
  • Transfer Certificate in original after confirmation of admission.
  • Character Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate of student concerned.
  • Copy of Birth Certificate attested by an appropriate authority.
  • Parents are required to carry their adhaar cards at the time of admission.

Direct Admission

The school may offer direct admission to meritorious students, both Indian/Overseas based on their academic records in their current school. For direct admission, applicants must enclose their last two years report cards, progress report and a teachers recommendation along with the Admission form. Direct admissions are offered at the sole discretion of the Principal

School Calendar

The school follows the regular academic pattern of premier public schools. The schools annual programme is as follows:

Session starts : 1st week of April
Summer Vacation : End-May to Early-July
Winter Vacation : End-Dec. to Mid-Jan.
Session ends : 31st March

Classes /Semester

The school is from Play group to Class XII and has all the optional courses of Classes XI and XII including Medical, Engineering, Commerce and Humanities. The school year is from April to March divided into two terms, as per the pattern prevalent in all public schools.
 

Withdrawal

Doon International School aims at excellence in all spheres connected with educating and bringing up children. We are confident that except for purely personal or family reasons a child will not be withdrawn till he/she has completed schooling. But in case it becomes imperative to withdraw a child, it may be done subject to the applicable rules and regulations.

No withdrawals are ordinarily permitted during mid session, except in special circumstances. No refunds will be allowed, nor deductions made in fees and dues payable as per fee regulations. Three months’ advance notice in writing shall be required if a parent wishes not to send the child for the following session. Ordinarily, such notices should reach the school not later than 31st December of the year preceding that in which the child is sought to be withdrawn. It will be assumed that the parent has given consent for the enrolment of the child for the next year and the seat will be reserved for him/her accordingly and no one else will be allocated that seat under any circumstances.

In such an event, the parents will be liable to pay for the entire next school term even if the child does not attend school. Applications for refund of Caution Money must reach the school office not later that 31st December of the year in which the child last attended the school. The same shall be processed and cheques for refunds will reach the parents within three months.
